DCS World (v1.5.2) checks updates at every launch!

Problems:

 

1) DCS app used to check updates in every 24 hours or something, do I recall correct?

Now, v1.5 checks updates every launch.

 

2) Depends on internet connection it waits seconds and seconds. I want to skip it and click on CANCEL, then it aborts to launch DCS completely!

Not sure if that is intentional behavior or not, but while you're waiting for a response, the default shortcut for DCS World in fact points to DCS_updater.exe. You could make a shortcut to run.exe in the DCS World folder, or just run it directly from the folder for now to bypass the updater.

Everything is working as usual here. the check is performed not sooner than 24 hours from the previous one.

However, it seems like the updater can't successfully check for updates at all for you.

That's why it tries to do it every run.

If you wait for it to complete, what it says in the AppData\Local\Temp\DCS\autoupdate_templog.txt file?

Aaah! Come on DCS!

 

Is that one of Murphy's law?! It works as intented now, but tonight at first launch, Updater updated itself.

 

I don't know if it fixed this, but now it's working properly.

But I could swear that every time I click on the icon, it used to start to check updates...

Hi Dmitry. I think I've found my problem.

 

At first checking, it seems checking and finds no update, but in fact, it fails to find something. I think that's why I see "Checking for updates" windows, repeatedly.
