Jacks Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 (edited) I am modelling a Medium Capacity 500lb bomb to develop my 3DS skills but require a bit of guidance. I am modelling the fins out of a plane which I then intent to thicken using the shell tool. What is the best way to get the fin to exact meet the cone and the cylindrical tail so each fin can be perfectly connected to both? I then intend to use radial symmetry to create the three remaining fins and then merge all of the objects to create one tail unit. Is it just a case of using Boolean? Also once the tail is complete, what is the best way to get it to sit precisely on the back of the bomb so the objects do not sit with each other (I want to keep them as separate objects)? A picture of the model is included. Thanks in advance, JacksRender 1.bmptail.bmp Edited January 20, 2016 by Jacks System Specs: i7 8700k @ 5.0GHz (not delidded), ASRock Extreme4 Z370 MOBO, EVGA GTX 1080 SC 8GB, 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz DDR4 RAM, Samsung Evo 240GB SSD, Samsung Evo 500GB SSD, 1TB HDD, Noctura NH-D15S Heat Sink, Acer VE278H 27" 1080p Monitor, Ocukus Rift CV1. joey45 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 What I think I know what you mean is... center each object to their axis through the Hierarchy tab Affect pivot only > center to object then center the fins axis to the bomb by the align tool.. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
