Mission Description Picture Panel Size / Format

When creating a picture (map and overlay graphics) for a mission, what size and file format is best?

 

I've been making the map and graphics in powerpoint and saving as a png file but in-game the text and images are chunky and very low quality. I'm guessing I have to adjust the pixel size to a specific number?

For my last mission I took a screenshot of the actual briefing screen (and then measured the picture size) to get the image size:

 

512x512 px

 

I made my picture this size and saved it as a jpeg. Although a lossy format it's a good quality in the briefing and the size seems to be correct.
