Raul Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Hello , first of all , sorry for my poor english. I am from a spanish scuadron , and i want to translate the "menus" that appears when you are flying. I dont know if is "menus" in english, but are wher e you order to your wingmans to do someting or ask for permission to take off. I want to translate it , because in my scuadron , a few pilots cant read english or russian. I have translated the the wingman , awacs , tower... answers, in "config/humansoundfiles.txt" file I have seen a file, /config/controls.ini, that seems to have the words as the game shows, but every time I change this file, writing in spanish the commands , the next time I close Lomac, the file is in english as originaly My first question, is : Why the file controls.ini change seems to be changed , but nex time i close lomac , is in english second question: Modificating /config/controls.ini, is the good way? . I mean , is this file that should translate? And third: should we have any problems with eagle dinamics if I translate this? Do you think We/I have to request permission to do this Thank you very much

That's a home made localisation, not a pirate copy :) So I don't think that ED will be against that. Besides there is a french home made localisation (by Check6 i think, mb not), they might help.
TekaTeka Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 The file you want to translate is \FUI\EnglishVersion\userinterface.cfg . Make a backup copy first and edit it very carefully. You might want to edit \Sounds\EnglishVersion\USA\radiospeech.cfg and \Sounds\EnglishVersion\RF\radiospeech.cfg, too. Those files contain the texts of the radio comms. I don't think you need any ED's permission, but they have no responsibility on your act and you have to do it at your own risk. 666th_birdy Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 I'm trying to replace the some sound files with my own recorder wav files, but am stuck. I was able to replace the "InboundForLanding" file but others don't seem to work. Is there a something I'm overlooking?
