joebloggs Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Can some please tell me how to get the smoke pods on the wing tips to work. I know you have to select them as part of your weapons load, but how do you get them to work after that? Cheers!
Rlaxoxo Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 You fire them like magics [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit
joebloggs Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 You fire them like magics There must be something more to it because I already tried what I think you are suggesting. I selected the smoke pod in weapons control panel on the bottom row and flicked the arm switch to on. I then pressed the button I would normally use to fire a missile and no smoke appears. When you say you use them like Magics, what exactly do you mean by that? With the Magics you lock onto a jets or use them with radar to lock on to a jet, so it's a totally different weapon. Apart from selecting smoke pod like I would do for Magics, I'm not sure what else you mean? Cheers!
Conroy Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Try to press T but i could be wrong. However smoke works fine. Check also the commands option.

That's how I use them in 2.0.1 if you playing 1.5 try using the "Smoke" command in controls [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit

snowsniper Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 press missile lauch 3 times smoke on G, D, both i7-10700KF CPU 3.80GHz - 32 GO Ram - - nVidia RTX 2070 - SSD Samsung EVO with LG TV screen 40" in 3840x2150 - cockpit scale 1:1 - MS FFB2 Joystick - COUGAR F16 throttle - Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals
joebloggs Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 press missile lauch 3 times smoke on G, D, both I'm totally confused now to be honest. How many ways are there to release smoke? I thought there would be just one simple way, but it seems people here are saying totally different things here? So now I have to press the weapons release switch 3 times? Or the Smoke release switch 3 times when I can find it in the settings? I also have no idea what you mean by "G,D, both" Can you please explain what you mean by this. Cheers!
bubbaxxx Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 I think he means that "G" (Gauche) is for "Left" and "D" (Droit) is for RIGHT ;)
spiddx Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Ok first of all forget the smoke release function, you don't need it. With Smokewinders loaded and in the air: 1) Master Arm On 2) Select first Weapon Select button on PCA (see picture) 3) You should now hear seeker tone (I guess WIP) 4) Press Weapon Release (AKA Fire!) button => Left smoke pod turns on 5) Press Weapon Release button multiple times to cycle through left, right, both on/off. Hope that works for you! Specs: i9 10900K @ 5.1 GHz, EVGA GTX 1080Ti, MSI Z490 MEG Godlike, 32GB DDR4 @ 3600, Win 10, Samsung S34E790C, Vive, TIR5, 10cm extended Warthog on WarBRD, Crosswinds

Hope that works for you! Cool - I think I might of been selecting the fuel tank on the PCA. I didn't expect the smoke pods to show no symbol on the PCA. Now I understand why the other guy said use like Magic missile. I think he was meaning where the Magic missile normally is, to press that like you have shown in the pic. I'll check this out later, I think it should work now. Thanks all.
Eihort Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 *BUMP* Okay, I had no problem making this work before but something changed. I know it's not my weapons employment methods because I can still shoot everything else just fine. I can't get the smokewinders to fire for the life of me. What's changed/What am I doing wrong now? Apparently the same procedure to fire a magic isn't working to get the pods to activate.
zerO_crash Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) You have a new keybinding in your controls section. It´s called "smoke generators". Default binding is "T". Enjoy ;) Edited July 4, 2016 by zerO_crash [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
