Thinking of using support channel - anyone else used it?

Hi guys.

I'm putting a concept together for a setup, potentially using metal support channel. Although not complete, the image below should give a good idea of what I'm aiming for.

I was thinking of unistrut or similar, but, being steel (and fairly heavy duty, generally 41x41mm) I think it might end up being stupid heavy.

Does anyone know of a similar customisable support system that might be better suited?

Many thanks.

Do a search for extruded aluminum frame. You will find square channeled tubing that you can put together like an erector set.

yep, often called 8020. Depending what suppliers in over there, it's not cheap and some areas getting similar stuff is not easy.

If you can get it at a good price, it's what you are after.
