guitarxe Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Hey guys, been a while since I simmed anything, and now I'm returning to DCS. I can see in the downloads on the new website (nice upgrade by the way!) that there is DCS 1.5 and DCS 2.0 Open Alpha. Is 2.0 Open Alpha our long-awaited Nevada map? And why does it say Open Alpha, is it not complete? In that case, should I just get 1.5 and fly on the old map or is 2.0 already very useable?
Necroscope Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 2.0 if you buy Nevada already and Nevada is only love of your life (there is no Caucasus map). 1.5 if you 'd like to have 2 free and all others paid planes with trainings and missions. Всех убью, один останусь!
Shez Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Get 1.5. 2.0 for the Nevada map. Simple simple. _:Windows 10 64 Bit, I7 3770 3.4Ghz, 16 Gigs Ram, GTX 960, TM Warthog, Track IR 5 w/Pro Clip:_
Zimmerdylan Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 (edited) If you are an on line kind of person, 1.5 is much better in the sense that there are so few 2.0 servers out there right now. And (IMO) 2.0 is pretty darn cool, but it's got some issues that 1.5 does not. So I would opt for 1.5. It's free because you have to purchase NTTR to use 2.0, and even though there are a few issues, 2.0 is still in Alpha at this point. Both are great maps but 1.5 is a bit more stable in my experience. I guess you should know that 2.0 only accommodates the NTTR map. So the big difference between the two is that 1.5 is the Causasus map and 2.0 is NTTR. They will merge at some point but even then you'll have to purchase the Nevada scenery. Edited February 20, 2016 by Zimmerdylan
guitarxe Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 Ohhh I see, I completely misunderstood it then. Thanks for explaining that!
