OK all of you computer / flight sim / hardware / know all geeks who come here. And I know you are around because I see you all over the forums, on TS, and in the servers, making the rest of us look bad with your advice and knowledge.

I have somewhat of a dilemma and need some assistance. I recently opened a ticket with ED with the issue that when I open DCS, it boots into non full screen mode 50% of the time. And when I use the keys to bring it to full screen, my mouse stays at the non full screen, rendering it useless.

Now!!! ED responded that my screen resolution was set @ 1380X760 and my monitor is a 24" monitor and needs to be set to 1920X1080 for DCS to boot full screen every time. And they were correct, it worked. But.......I'm running the Nvidia 660ti and although it looks very friggin nice, as you can imagine it has some lag in combat and the fps aren't what they could be.

When I was running it at 1380X760, the sim ran very well on my 660ti. I just had to put up with having to restart it every other time I got into the sim because of the non full screen mode.

My questions are: Is there a way that I can set it at a res. that is below 1920X1080 and keep the aspect ratio so that the planes don't look like pulled taffy? It seems that 1380X760 is the only res. that did not stretch the picture out, that's why I set it there. And I stayed away from the higher resolutions for performance reasons. So is there a way to set the ratio correctly for other resolutions?

What card will run the 1920X1080 efficiently? I have the 66ti because well.....when I got it 4 years ago it was the best thing at it's price and it was a pretty good card.

And, has anyone else had the whole non full screen issue? If so, did you have to go to your correct screen res to fix it, or was there a way to balance the ratio and res. to make it work?

Much thanks!!!

If I've understood this issue correctly from past posts. DCS runs by default in a borderless windowed mode, not true Full Screen which would fit your lower resolution to your screen no matter if it's smaller than the native resolution.

I think the command to go to Full Screen is Alt+Enter? (I could be wrong)

Also try a resolution that's 16:9 like 1280x720 and you shouldn't see any distortion of aspect ratio.

Thx for the reply

Yes Alt+Ent is the command. But the issue with it is that even though the screen goes full screen mode, my mouse cursor stays in non full screen mode. The calibration of way off so you can not use the mouse.

I just tried running a lower resolution on my monitor (1080x1920) and it worked fine, it filled the screen and the mouse worked. I didn't need to press Alt+Enter
