So the video shows the last two missile launches that went off target.

Whatever I was locked on should have stayed locked when I launched, or did I do something wrong?

I'm guessing it has something to do with what you have locked? Could also be a simulated malfunction in the maverick, but twice in a row..... probably not. Your maverick's lock may have been broken by a LOS issue? A city is a very difficult place to use a IR maverick, too many obstructions. You're also very close to your targets. The maverick is a standoff weapon. Are you inside min range?

Hard to tell what you're locked or not locked onto by just watching the HUD. The maverick will lock onto nearly anything as soon as you press the lock button and give you a "shoot" cue. Don't shoot until you have verified that you have locked up the target you want. You do that by looking at your maverick screen at 6X magnification and even zooming in on it (make a snap view of the zoomed in maverick screen to get a real good look) to make sure you have a valid target locked and it's the one that you want. You can also slew the TDC around for small changes while it is locked (stabilized).

I've seen this happen in multiplayer when someone else kills my target while my maverick is in flight. It then loses it's lock and goes on unguided.

I've seen what happens in your video happen to others in multiplayer, but I've never had it happen to me. I'm guessing that you have something locked that isn't what you intended to lock and the maverick isn't tracking it.

Thanks for the response.

So the video cuts off part of my view, I was, it appeared, locked onto both the T-72, with a blinking crosshair, and the AAA.

The minimum range maybe an issue.

I got in close because I was tired of locking onto the target and then the lock transfers onto anything nearby or between. I have taken out both bridges, multiple buildings, rocks, bushes, trees and some poor schmucks on a bus.

There were two previous to the video and one more afterwards, if it were the random weapon failure someone better be talking to the manufacturer.

I am not happy with the video quality, it looked much better on my system but took a hit going to YouTube, but in both the lower part of the dash got cut out and same today, I think that may be caused by my video card will, hopefully, upgrade in the near future. And I really wish my rudder pedals would get here.

Well I tried this out on the Nevada test range and was 6 for 6. Now that was a wide open space though.

Still having the same issue though when it comes to the city map, will try to post another video.

BTW that Nevada map is nice.

Assuming this is the mission from the A-10A campaign where you have to kill the three tanks near Batumi?

The terrain makes this mission in particular very challenging, as I recall. As you say, the Mavericks seem much more interested in the bushes than your targets.

If memory serves, I had the best luck running in over the water from the SW then breaking off to the SE after attacking to avoid SAMs/AAA.

Most likely you fired inside of minimum range but as others say it's hard to tell without seeing the MFD. Good luck!
