[RESOLVED] F86 wont load since last update?

This module crashes on load since last update?

 

Anybody any ideas how I can fix this?

 

Ive done a dcs repair but no joy?

First question, how are you trying to load the module? Existing custom mission, quick action etc?

 

Also, what map? Black Sea or Nevada?

 

It could be one of two common things if Repair hasn't fixed it:

 

1) Bad Mission

 

Fix by loading up the Mission Editor, placing an F86 (and setting to player controlled) on a brand new empty mission and clicking fly. If that works, then it's whatever mission you were trying to load is broken. Opening that one in the ME and simply resaving normally fixes things.

 

2) Bad Configs

 

To check if it's a config issue, go to:

C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games\DCS\Config

First off all try going into the Input sub folder and renaming the F86 directory to something like old_F86.

 

Try and load up DCS again. If it works, great, you've only lost your F86 keybinds. You can delete old_F86 as DCS will have generated a new one for you.

 

If that doesn't work, move back a level and rename Config folder to "old_Config" and try again.

If that works, there's probably something else in your config that's broken. It'll be a process of elimination then.

 

Bonus:

3) Make sure you've updated Windows and your gfx drivers recently.

No, not bad mission file. Have saved it and mig 15 runs fine with it.

 

Done the config files things you have suggested - no joy.

 

It keeps crashing on load up saying 'DCS has stopped responding'. I'm not getting this problem with any other modules.

 

All my drivers and os are up to date.
