drack Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Hi Folks, I was doing a spin test with an instrument approach flight the other night in the Mig 21. (Great fun LN thanks). I had to deploy the drag chute to get out of the spin which worked well. I then tried to disconnect the chute but it would not come lose. I even tried burning it off with the afterburner. It would not disconnect until I was on the ground. Has anybody managed to get the chute to disconnect in the air? Did I experience a chute disconnect failure? Thanks.
CrimsonGhost Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I have yet to be able to get the chute to drop via my assignment on my X55. Deploys ok, but randomly goes away a couple minutes after hitting the switch, then trying full throttle like you are. This is on the ground though. i7-7700K @ 5.2Ghz SLI 1080Ti 64GB GSkill Trident Z RGB 4133 Asus Maximus IX Extreme Custom Water Cooling Loop TM Warthog/ MFG Crosswind
Nerd1000 Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 the disconnect button has a cover, so if you're trying to disconnect it with a keybinding you'll need to add one to raise the cover before you press the button.
