Afternoon all,

Got into DCS for the 1st time about 2 months ago...awesome sim! I've been out of the sim loop since I was a lot younger (Fighter Bomber & F-18 Interceptor were my favs). Man, sims have come a long way since then!

So anyway, been lurking around here since getting the game, benefitting from the wealth of handy tips and guides.

One of the things I realised very quickly is that DCS is somewhat...deep. And while learning it's been bloody handy to some reference charts made up of whatever mapping you come up with for your chosen input choice (the X-55 in my case, obviously).

Although there are some really awesome templates out there I did find myself wanting for something a bit more flexible when it comes to editing and a little more 'at a glance' legible when in game...

So it's nice to be able to make my 1st post a contribution of sorts to the community (I couldn't find the 'introduce yourself' section anyways).

In the attached .zip are copies of my blank X-55 Stick & Throttle templates. There's 2 'flattened' png images for those that would prefer something simple that they can just write text over, but the meat of what's there are two Paint.net files that have their layers intact - allowing for modular and customisable control over pretty much every element that might be wanted - I'll drop a few examples below.

Also, they're all in portrait orientation at the correct ratios so they can be imported to kneeboard pages without fuss using the totally awesome Kneeboard Builder. Handy.

Lastly, worth mentioning: I can't take full and complete credit for the asthetic 'look' of these templates...while I was searching online for an X-55 blank that I liked I came across this one during a google image search (on the Frontier forums I think)...but alas, that one only had the throttle and was fully loaded and not very friendly for editing. I've taken my initial design cue from it, but I feel that enough work has gone into what I'm offering here to not feel plaguristic in any way...besides, I've just given it a shout.

Anyways, Examples (resized. The originals are all 1488x2105):

Blanks:

Customisation:

My own fully loaded FC3 Mappings:

That's all really...feel free to use as you see fit, or not.

On a side note - My FC3 mappings have been about a month in the oven...they work really well and cover pretty much all the FC3 birds in a unified profile (still a few tweaks needed for the A-10A & F-15 I think). Although it looks a little complicated it's actually really intuitive and 'makes sense' when you start using it. If anyone fancies giving it a whirl just give me a shout and I'll put a little package together...It requires combined dance between the HUD software profille & DCS .diff files

Anyhoos, Cheers and see you about,

Fubar.
