jetsmell Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 For the past few years, I've been flying the Microsoft Flight Simulator (FSX). When I got on the DCS the first thing I noticed were the different cameras and since I'm not used to it I felt a little uncomfortable. In FSX, I used my own custom cameras using EZDOC. Is there a program like EZDOC for DCS ? I do have a Logitech G510 keyboard and I have the Saitek X52 throttle and stick. Can I do any customizing?
Arctic Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) I used EZDOK and really liked the options in FSX. Sadly, there's nothing like EZDOK for DCS... in outside view, you can play a little bit whith the F2 view (outside) when you press LALT+F2 (The rotation-center then changes from the plane to the camera itself). These also works for other Views... (dont try it with ALT+F4... :D) Just press it a second time to change the center of rotation again. On the ground you also can use F11 and fly around with this camera, but only relative to the ground and not to the plane itself... It is also possible to change the standard views or even get additional ones if i remeber it right, but its still nothing compared to FSX with EZDOK. I hope DCS will improve the camera's in future Versions... Edited April 1, 2016 by Arctic
AnthonyD5189 Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I'm still confused at what you're looking for. I don't know what EZDOK is. Are you wanting an exterior view? If so can I ask why? So much stuff needs to be done in cockpit that I can't even understand why you'd want to play with anything other than a cockpit view.
jetsmell Posted April 1, 2016 Author Posted April 1, 2016 If you ever used EZDOC Cameras in FSX you would know what I mean, it's that good. I also spend most of my time inside the cockpit, but it's fun to go outside to watch the landing gear or flaps move. If someone were to develop a camera like EZDOC for DCS they would make a fortune. Sadly I'm not equipped to do it.

If one's interested in capturing movies in DCS something like EZDOK would be very nice and handy. And also for longer flights to the battlefield... I don't know what you are doing all the time in the cockpit while in flight... If you dont need it (while you dont even know what it is.......) then everything should be just fine for you?... zaelu Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 There is no such thing in DCS but it would be nice to be able to edit the camera movement positions etc during a track and then record the resulting movie. Something like Old old old Driver 1 game had. However with some hard work, imagination and a non linear movie editing software you can do almost the same in DCS. You Need to plan ahead and use extensively and creatively the camera movement keys from DCS (you can find a lot of options in View sections of Controls). That means to use a lot the padlock, FOV keys and External object cameras. Exclude objects you don't want to focus on, use jump to free camera and ordnance creatively.
