sBryansGames Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Hey all, I just got Helios working after 2 weeks of derping around with it. The only issue I have left is that Helios only displays in the corner of the display and it's way too small. I tried messing with the ProfileName.hpf but every change I make breaks it. I've heard of others having success editing it but that post was in 2009. I would appreciate any help. Check the attached image below for a better understanding of my problem. Thanks Bryan *Social Media* twitch/sBryansGames [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Capt Zeen Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Load an original profile ( not the one you got allready modified) in the helios profile editor. Then go to the menu and select "reset monitors". Select tthe order of monitors where you want your profile to show up. And click ok. Save it width a new name, and open it again width the helios control panel. sBryansGames Posted April 3, 2016 Author Posted April 3, 2016 (edited) I've tried this before but just to make sure I did again just now. It still shows up too small. It only takes up 15'' of my 19'' monitor. In the profile editor it is shown that it takes up the whole screen but it doesn't. I tired just to see if it would display correctly on one of my other monitors and it did. It shows up correctly on my 1920x1080 screen but this is my main screen that I play on. RocketRod Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 I have done this too with no results that I want. So I will build my own. Easy enough to do. What a great tool Helios is!
eaglecash867 Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Hi guys, sBryansGames and RocketRod, I think you guys are having the same problem I was having today with installing Helios for the first time in a couple of years. Just taking a wild guess here, but I'm thinking you're both running Windows 8.1 or above, like I am (Windows 10). What I found with mine is that Windows 8.1 and above scale the display to 125%, so an indicated resolution of 1920X1080 is actually only 1536X864. I right-clicked on the desktop and selected display settings. I then slid the "Change the size of text, apps, and other items" from its default 125% all the way to the left to 100%. Problem solved! :D I now get a full-screen Helios A-10C panel showing on my second display. Now its on to the task of setting up viewports and so-on. Hope this helps. sBryansGames Posted April 3, 2016 Author Posted April 3, 2016 Eaglecrash867, That may be it. I have that setting on the second tick which is one below the recommended setting. I'll play around with that and see if I can get it fixed. thanks *Social Media* twitch/sBryansGames [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sBryansGames Posted April 3, 2016 Author Posted April 3, 2016 Yup... That totally fixed it. problem is now I don't have enough monitor space for all the programs I like to have open. Thanks Eaglecrash867. *Social Media* twitch/sBryansGames [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RocketRod Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Mine was already 100% (Win10). Thanks for the help. I only need flight & engine instruments until I get Start, Taxi, Takeoff, Fly, Land accomplished.
