A wish: ability to remove pylons+related hardware

So, I was wondering if it would be possible to include a load-out option for the helicopter which would allow us to remove the pylons, camera, and the "gunner" tv/controls, kinda like what Belsimtek did with their Mi-8.

 

I don't know if the real helicopter could support this, but it would be awesome to strip it down even more for some fast maneuvering and racing!

Let's say that contrarily to the Mi-8, removing the Camera and the tv is a nonsense on the Sa-342M.

 

That's because the specifications of the SA-342M1 are drastically different from the others ALAT versions :

 

- Not the same main Rotor

- Not the same engine

- Doppler radar system

- DRAX33 EWR system with its detectors (perhaps too on other versions this one).

- .......

 

So removing the camera device, the pylons, and the tv srcreen would lead to a non existent version of the helicopter, because it would still feature a different engine and other stuff exclusive to this version. That's not the goal of the team, I hope you will understand :)

It means the camera, the TV and the weapons stands won't be remove-able.

 

Second step will be to add different weapons to the gazelle module.

And then everything will be remove-able and change-able.

This is the Aérospatiale SA.342M Gazelle 3896/AXH stripped. So it should be possible to remove all the stuff in reallife.

Technically it's too possible to paint it in white with green strips. But there isn't a white and green skin in the package. It's too possible to transform the gazelle in order to make it look like a Russian prototype like in Rambo III. But it's not included either in the package.

 

You compare such modification to the Mi-8 ones. You're completely wrong on this. In the Mi-8, you add or remove passive systems, like the glass sight. Do you imagine that it's as simple to remove an electronic sight which is an integrant part of the code and plays an active role in the way of using it ?

 

This doesn't mean that there won't be a version without Viviane (don't know), but no, you won't be able to remove vital systems like this on your parking... Do you imagine that the image you gave is the result of a mechano who thought : "Mmmmh, today, I remove HOT pylons, RWR receivers from the canopy (So I have to replace the canopy too), remove the Viviane Camera and all the Commander controls, ah and yes, RWR too" ? That's an integral new aircraft !

 

These are deep modifications, and it's not currently projected to allow the player to change it on a parking... You would need for more than 1 minute to remove this, it's not a payload, it's a part of the helicopter system (totalizing around 300 kg of stuff). It doesn't mean that you will never have a "naked" version of the Gazelle, honestly I don't know, and I hope too that we'll have one, but currently, understand that it's not because something exists IRL that it's "obviously" simulated... The goal is to release a finished product, then we'll talk about supplements...

 

Just like with the HOT2... Still looking for a post from devs which said "Gazelle will have HOT3 and HOT2"... No there only are HOT3 on this version... ^^ But even with Pat message 5 posts above, which is quite clear, you still read "There will be HOT3 and probably HOT2 aswell"... :megalol:

Seriously though, I'm sure this will never end. It's like the Ka-50 and the requests for RWR, FLIR and AA missiles.

 

Edit: Just so there is absolutely no confusion when someone reads this, the above is a joke. I shouldn't have to write this but if I don't, someone will no doubt take it seriously. The quote is cut from a much larger statement saying there will NOT be HOT-2 for this specific version of the Gazelle. There, hopefully no one reads this the wrong way.

Yes I understand. I was part of the ones who asked for Iglas on the Kamov-50 for example... But after having discussed a lot with devs, it's not so simple. It's a very long and hard job, and unfortunately not always grateful...
