I mentioned this book (I'm currently reading it on android kindle) in another thread, but wanted to spread the word a bit more.

It's by David Morgan and covers the Harrier ops in the Falklands conflict.

I've read a lot of aerial combat books over the years and this is by the far the best, most interesting one of the lot.

It covers naval aviation procedures, fault finding, dogfighting against Mirages, Daggers, Pucaras and A-4s as well as ground and shipping strikes etc - and both sides in the conflict are treated equally in it, with due respect (and not just a little personal info on the Argentine pilots participating, and their individual fates), as well as the bodges made to make the aircraft work in that environment.

There's none of the pompous or gung-ho blah blah you often find in these kind of books, whilst it remains very much "Boy's Own" sort of material.

Excellent read and I'm only half way through and thoroughly enjoying it!

Indeed, I only got through chapter 1 in Sharkey's book before putting it down and picking this one up. It's a big difference and well worth it.
