Aviators Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Hi Is there a known issue with some of the Frogfoots training missions? Most of them work fine but in some of them the weapons refuse to fire ie the lesson about the "KMGU submunition dispenser", the one about the "Gun pods" and the one about the "Vikhr Laser guided missiles". I tried restarting them 3-4 times and it just refuses to fire the weapons in those specific missions, all the other ones I can complete without any issues. Is this a bug or am I really doing something wrong? I always have a solid LA, I keep the fire button depressed for multiple seconds, the Shkval (in the laser guided trainings) has an AC, laser target is locked, ... Thanks in advance.
esb77 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Tried it in the latest version of 1.5 and had no problems, aside from only hitting two trucks. You might check your control configuration, make sure things aren't double bound, or incorrectly bound. Entered air to ground mode, pressed V four times to get to the KMGU/bomb rack release mode, flew through the gates at about 780 km/h, put the pipper about 50 m ahead of the nearest truck, pulled and held trigger until I heard the last of the submunitions release. Are you using 1.5 or 2.0 by the way? Just because something works in 1.5 doesn't mean the same is true in 2.0. Callsign "Auger". It could mean to predict the future or a tool for boring large holes. I combine the two by predictably boring large holes in the ground with my plane.
Aviators Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 I follow the tutorial mission training. DCS World 1.5 Beta. The problem is with the kmgu and cannon. MikeMikeJuliet Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 I had this same problem way back before 1.5, and a bunch told me it was a user error for sure (steam forums, I didn't post here at the time). I did quite a lot of testing on the topic for a few days, and I believe the problem is, that the tutorials use "spacebar" as the button to continue the text in the tutorial. For some reason this bugs for some users in these 3 missions. In other words, you are not doing anything wrong. The fix is not complicated: give the "fire weapon" key a second keybind (I used numpad comma). Use this new keybind in the tutorial missions you have trouble with. You can also take the KMGUs for example to a free-flight and try the default keybind (that is: "spacebar") and it should work just fine. The problem is in the three tutorial missions. Now for those who have not encountered this problem, consider yourselves lucky. As I tested things out it seemed that in the steam forums only a couple of people had run into the same issue. Just a random bug that manifests itself only rarely. If the fix doesn't work, give me a shout and I'll see if I can try to figure it out with ya. DCS Finland | SF squadron
