whitav8 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Congratulations to ED for the 1.3 runtime support in 2.0.2 and that ATW works so well! Yes, the menu bugs are annoying but we are seeing great strides being taken. Night Environment 1. The problem that several of us noted before was that the lighting from point sources onto the terrain was different for each eye (and really headache causing) has been fixed!! Flying in downtown Las Vegas in a UH-1 at night is a real treat. By the way, I saw some CTD crashes with starting at McCarran in the UH-1 (brand new simple mission) but if I start near the Stratosphere and come into town from there, no crashes?? 2. The stars are way too big - everything is a Supernova! I hope I can find an editable file that reduces that. 3. I see a lot of banding in the sky coloring at late dusk (a little twilight left) - I'm not sure if that is DCS, my DK2, Oculus 1.3, or what Anyway, I am enjoying the night scene now. Hoping for some of the bugs to be fixed soon but will be patient! Please report your own findings - maybe the CV1 is better. whitav8 Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 OK - I solved the size of stars issue. Just use Notepad++ to edit the following: C:\wherever\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\Bazar\shaders filename = Star.fx line 21 : static float starSize = 1500.0; I changed it to 500.0, could even be less for personal preference. I set up a simple mission with a UH-1 at low altitude near the North end of the strip - looks great in the neighborhood areas. Turn on your landing light (which looks just a little strange in stereo at very low altitude) and land in a parking lot - or on top of a building. Late twilight is nice. 1 PC HW 9700K@5.0Ghz Win 10 (Build 2004 ) with WMR VR - Reverb RTX2070 with Nvidia 451.48 DCS 2.5.6 (latest)
