near_blind Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Is there currently anyway to zoom in or out, or otherwise change the FOV while using the Vive?
AstroEma Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 you cannot zoom in or out like you would do with the TrackIR. Kaby Lake @ 4.6Ghz - Gigabyte Z170-D3H - 16Gb DDR4 - Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 OC - Samsung EVO 250Gb SSD - Seagate 1 Tb HDD - HTC Vive - Rift CV1
near_blind Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 you cannot zoom in or out like you would do with the TrackIR. I see. Is this a set VR thing, or has ED mentioned anything about changing this in the future?
near_blind Posted April 24, 2016 Author Posted April 24, 2016 You lean :) That is the point of VR :) Touché :) My concern isn't so much that I can't read things in the cockpit (as you pointed out leaning is quite an effective solution). It's more that currently I have a ~60 degree FOV using the Vive, and that makes maintaining visual contact with anything behind my 3/9 line exceedingly difficult, with it becoming more harder the closer they get to my six. Perhaps I haven't configured something correctly?
hansangb Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Yeah, when I started using my DK2, I said to myself...damn, I need a real cockpit just so I can grab it and twist my body around to check six! This, after, my brain was telling my hands to reach out and grab the VR cockpit!
