OfficiaLP Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 So im making a mission wwhere you need to intercept a bomber (simple enough). And ive run into the problem that, if the bomber reaches its destination (an airfirled full of AA) it quits and starts running away... Its a B-52H, it has bombs equipped, it has been set to "ground attack", its objective is "bombing" and the little triangle is on the airfield. The AA is 2 Vulcans and 2 random sam sites i chose (Linebacker i think its called). Anyone have any good info on making an ai bomber that kills an airfield?
Lucky Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I have a mission where I have F/A-18's take out 2 SA-19's with HARMS, then 2 batteries of MLRS fire on the town, then 2 B-1's carpet bomb the town and finally a 3rd B-1 drops 8 GPS guided bombs on 8 armored vehicles. It usually kills 6-7 as some move after the 1st one gets hit. I use B-1's instead of B-52's. Make sure you have a waypoint (Name it IP) far enough away so the plane can prepare to attack the target. I have mine set at 32nm. then another waypoint after passing over the airfield. If you're using iron bombs then your settings should be TYPE - Perform task ACTION - Bombing WEAPON - Iron bombs RELEASE QUANTITY - All (Depending on whether you want to drop all in one pass. If you have 10 bombs and only drop 5 then your attack quantity would be 2, 20 bombs then your attack quantity would be 4. I believe the plane will automatically make multiple passes if needed.) ATTACK QUANTITY - Depends on how many bombs you have and what release quantity This was my first attempt at this and it is just an experiment. I am by no means an expert in this. I figured it out by trial and error. Hope I helped a little. Lucky Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 To add some info. After you create an IP waypoint. From that waypoint set up your advanced waypoint actions TYPE - Perform task ACTION - Bombing WEAPON - Iron bombs RELEASE QUANTITY - All (Depending on whether you want to drop all in one pass. If you have 10 bombs and only drop 5 then your attack quantity would be 2, 20 bombs then your attack quantity would be 4. I believe the plane will automatically make multiple passes if needed.) Sorry for my rambling, I see it wasn't nescessary. Like I said I'm no expert in mission building and it shows.
