Simon1279 Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Hello everybody i've made many tests: Arty goes down nice and smooth, BTR same thing, T55 are making very nice flames but are there any special "trick" for taking down T90 tanks in the open without being hit by them? or maybe am i pretend too much from the Gazelle and the only solution is trying to take 'em down just using some terrain covering spot and in the open it is better waiting for A10C CAS [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I7 8700K @ 4.9 ghz, SSD 850 evo, MSI Z370 Gaming Pro, GTX 1080Ti, F/A-18C in the garage, F-16C in the backyard, F-14B in the garden
Para_Bellum Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Hide behind a hill. Pop up slowly until you can just acquire a target. Rise a little higher so you can fire off a TOW. Fire TOW and carefully sink again until you can just keep the target in your sight. You cannot expect to engage targets capable of launching ATGMs at you without some kind of cover and survive.
xBuzz Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 (edited) I had the same problem until I decided to just not to stop and hover, their hit ratio is a lot less if you keep moving, (you can fire HOT3 anywhere below 180km/hr). With the use of some nose down trim it's easy to create stable forward flight which gives you time to switch to co-pilot to fire the missiles off (heli controls can still be used from co-pilot seat). Only other thing is to not remain in a constant point in their view by creating a vector between you and the vehicle. You can't vector too much in x axis due to firing requirements, but you can use collective to increase or decrease your rate of ascent slightly so that they pretty much always miss. Only problems are that it is harder to move cross-hairs onto the targets once you start getting really close, and it seems to be slightly less accurate. Edited May 4, 2016 by xBuzz
