  1. Thanks for info. I guess then not much we can do except keep mentioning it, and also hopefully some of the 3rd party teams can put some pressure on ED also to improve this area.
  2. Nice one Deano, pretty much same as my findings, although a lot more detailed. Hopefully someone from ED can have a look at your video, if they don't already know about the issue.
  3. I'm pretty new to DCS so not sure how all the other weapons systems work, but would it be safe to assume that all the other weapons systems, while not working as they should in real life, they still produce the same result as they would real life i.e. the bomb will hit the laser designated target?
  4. Yep, I guess what I was trying to get at, is that the laser doesn't act like it should operationally. From my above video, and other's findings, the range on the laser is about 8-10nm, depending on height of aircraft. When the maverick reaches the end of the laser, and the end of the laser isn't on a target, but in the air, it will chase the end of the laser. (edit: here's the video again to save looking for it ) I did a quick google, and it seems the A10C laser someone said has about a range of 10nm too, so I'm guessing the laser is apart of a standard DCS module item and not created by Razbam. If we want the Maverick E to work properly, the range of the laser needs to be increased.
  5. What about the laser though, is it only supposed to go 8nm IRL, like ingame?
  6. Here's a video I made of it, after launching maverick I turn to maintain greater than 8nm from target, then as mav approaches target it turns back towards harrier following the end of the laser.
  7. I was mav training yesterday on E's. Once I released I turned about 60 degrees away from the target, and about 10 sec before the mav was supposed to hit the target it turned directly for my aircraft, which makes sense now I read your post as it seems it was following the end of the laser as I moved away from the target. I just tested this further this morning and the mav is definitely turning to follow the laser at 8+ nm, you can still control the mav by moving the laser as It tracks towards the end of the laser, which is now in mid air. The question then is, is this correct? It seems a very weak laser can travel at least 10-12 miles. Any military grade laser should be able to go much further?
  8. Broken for me too post update. It just doesn't work, when you hit sensor select forward nothing happens. Checked if there were any conflicting keybinds, but there are none.
  9. Check out Rogue Systems, might be of interest. DCS level systems but in space with fictional spacecraft. Real quality game even in it's early level of production. You can get it on steam.
  10. Not sure if it's been proposed before, or even viable, but how about more lives for sides which are heavily outnumbered, or less for the dominant side? Love the server btw. Im relatively new DCS player and find the campaign awesome, reasons to fly every plane.
  11. Just got this module today, beautiful aircraft. Guide is awesome, helping me alot!
  12. Ah cool, that clears stuff up then, thanks!
  13. The problem is that the announcement isn't accurate in it's language, which leads to confusion. Facts are: - F-5 trailer says at end it is "coming" in July. Whether that is early access or full release no one knows. - Pre-purchase is on 20-05-2016 as said by announcement. From earlier releases by DCS a pre-purchase comes in a period before early access, they're not the same (say older community members). The announcement says other stuff, but those are the only facts relating to release times. So no one really knows when early access will start, or when the full release will be, because it hasn't been stated clearly. The only facts are that pre-purchase is today and that early access or full release is in July.
  14. I think the exact release time is normally ED's call, as they release the new modules in friday updates recently, which normally works out late evening european time (3-5pm gmt). Free to be corrected though.
  15. "Pre-purchase" tomorrow means we'll be able to purchase and fly it as early access from tomorrow?
  16. I feel the need, the need for speed!
  17. I had the same problem until I decided to just not to stop and hover, their hit ratio is a lot less if you keep moving, (you can fire HOT3 anywhere below 180km/hr). With the use of some nose down trim it's easy to create stable forward flight which gives you time to switch to co-pilot to fire the missiles off (heli controls can still be used from co-pilot seat). Only other thing is to not remain in a constant point in their view by creating a vector between you and the vehicle. You can't vector too much in x axis due to firing requirements, but you can use collective to increase or decrease your rate of ascent slightly so that they pretty much always miss. Only problems are that it is harder to move cross-hairs onto the targets once you start getting really close, and it seems to be slightly less accurate.
  18. True, that's why put in a "yet" there, as I might in a few days. :p
  19. Just can't bring myself to use curves just yet, feels like cheating and the challenge is just more fun!
  20. From what i've seen you need very fine rudder inputs, especially on takeoff you need heavy right rudder as you raise collective, then ease it off VERY slowly as you gain speed.
  21. Congrats, loving this module already, really sensitive light heli, very challenging!
