JanTelefon Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 So I have noticed that the mirror in the Mig 21 shows a very dark picture. During the days it's fine, but when light conditions aren't that great it makes it almost impossible to see anything. Has anybody else noticed this, and is there a way of tweaking it? BadHabit Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 On the little I know and can explain, I think they have changed the mirror's material in the previous patches as the mirror was generating FPS issues. However if u compare the mig's mirror to other modules I think that the mig's mirror has an actual use. JanTelefon Posted May 6, 2016 Author Posted May 6, 2016 The Mig mirror definitely has a use, and that's why it being so dark bothers me. To check the tail of the Mig 21 you need that mirror, but under a lot of conditions I sadly can't see anything beyond the tail fin. :/
Pocket Sized Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Because of the way DCS handles mirrors they act as an animated texture. The fishbed's mirror is the same as any other but is in a shroud so the texture is seldom lit. Fly so the Sun is to your right and bank left. You should see the mirror catch the sunlight and get much brighter. DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule. In order to utilize a system to your advantage, you must know how it works.
