whiteside Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 (edited) Where do you guys go for a nice realistic formation flight? Are there any groups of either real world pilots who would be interested in allowing me to fly with you or a group that takes it seriously and flies to the real world standard? Just curious. I'm feeling like a little wing work:)I have real world formation experiance. Thanks a bunch! whiteside Posted May 9, 2016 Author Posted May 9, 2016 (edited) Well, I knew that would come up. :) I am really looking to fly with a group whom either has experience in real world military or civilian formation flying. Not meant to offend anyone who isn't, I just wanted to see how that experience adds to my immersion. I am flying with a group of great guys who know WAY more than I about simming and how the systems of these DCS aircraft work. But are not always available to fly. I would like to do both instruct and challenge myself in formation flying as I find that it transfers well to my real world flying. Overall, I'm just looking for a few more options of being able to jump on at the spur of the moment and put together a 2-4 ship formation flight with guys who know how it goes. More options is great! So taxi out, takeoff, enroute wingwork, some rejoins, come into the overhead, pitch out, land and taxi in as a flight. Maybe work up to aerobatics. Just the basics. Are there any groups that fit that description? Thanks Will Edited May 9, 2016 by whiteside i9-9900K 3.6(Running at 5.0 GHZ) 32GB Memory 2x M.2 drives Win 10 64bit RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra OCULUS RIFT CV1 VKB Gunfighter 2 extended/TM Pedals/TM Warthog throttles.
CrazyPandaPilot Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 (edited) I'm looking for A friend to Fly with as well, but I just have no Real experience flying Formations. I am however about to complete my PPL and have a lot of Experience doing formations. I would consider myself better than average and formations and at combat. I have the Hawk, MiG-21, Ka-50, A-10c(Although never done combat with her), Bf-109, and the F-86. Oh and I'm in Cali. so Pacific Time zone, usually on all day on weekends and from 3pm-10pm weekdays. Shahdoh Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 The Virtual Aerobatic server is a non-combat environment intended for just that. We have all experience types so the issue is when you are available, are there others on who want to do the same thing. Sometimes there are a lot on interested in formation and we have had groups as large as 15 or more in formation, sometimes only a couple. Only way to find out is sign on and ask around. Be patient if no one is immediately interested or available. We do also have a TS to help with Comms: ts3.virtual-aerobatics.com /Salute Shahdoh - VA Admin
Norcat Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Hi Whiteside, I am looking for all the same things. Formation realism. I fly in the VA server and am always looking to form up with others. Callsign: NORCAT. Fly the MIG-15/21 F-15 C-101 Mig-15 is kinda tricky though lots of engine lag and thick canopy frame, F-15 is the easiest. I fly for a living too (G200) but never allowed formation...lol so this is my fun time. If u see me online say hi, I'd be happy to fly with you.
