kojdog Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 GIMP is free and been around forever. It seems to have all the basic functionality of Photoshop including the layers structure, etc.: https://www.gimp.org/downloads/ I think out of the box it will do .tga without any problem. However, to work on .dds which many DCS modules use I think you need a plugin. I believe this is the .dds plugin I used to allow GIMP2 to read most of the DCS files: http://gimp-dds-plugin.software.informer.com/2.0/ Just follow install instructions there. Good luck and I look forward to seeing what you do. I like the work you've done on the Mirage 2000c so far!
FireFox500 Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 downloading a free trial of Photoshop could also work if you dont need it often, you get 30 days on a trial and CS5 CS6 and CC are all very very good, but if you want it for good and dont need all the advanced tools take a look at Photoshop Elements 14. PC Specs: i7 4790 (non K), MSI GTX 980, 1TB Seagate HDD, 32GB Crucial DDR3-1600MHz RAM, 3 Samsung 1920x1080 monitors, EVGA 850W G2 PSU

Thanks The reason I'm trying to do this is because I'm having a problem using the gun snake in a Mirage when you lock a person with the radar and get the cross thingy on the target I can't see the Dot because it's to small and because of that I managed to miss alot of my shots I wanted to put like an extra circle around the tiny one to maybe notice it easier because I tried editing the code of the actual HUD stuff like reducing the width of a gun snake but a tiny margin and by that it might help but it kinda looks weird being so thin so I remembered people moding the HUD on Mirage and Ka-50 so here I am trying to know some more stuff : D I'm gonna try the program you linked but can Photoshop do this as well? I have it installed and when i open it with Photoshop all I see is 1 layer and white blank page [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Youtube Reddit
