Hi

I love the 97/105 model CBU's and can take out 10-20 vehicles with 1 weapon.

However I am finding the 87/103 model very ineffective versus even infantry and unarmoured ehicles unless it lands right on them. So is it modelled correctly or is there a preffered setup of the weapon to get the optimum spread and effectiveness. Thanks

The problem is that DCS doesn't really simulate fragmentation effects for munitions. Instead it uses a "blast radius". And while this works reasonably well for bigger bombs smaller weapons like bomblets and rockets suffer in their performance.

The CEM should have 202 bomblets, the weapon as modelled in DCS right now has around 50. This means it isn't as capable at covering a large area as it should be.

It seems that the low number of bomblets has been adjusted for by upping the damage of each bomblet, but the issue of course is that with fewer bomblets you're less likely to hit a target in the first place.

Who knows if this will change in the future.

The 87/103's have been bunk from the getgo. Other than when trying to crash the server(multiple 87 drops). The 97/105's work great gainst soft and hard targets(other than bunkers).

105 is better than all the cbu series. 105 destroyed 10 units also 2 bunkers but 97 cant do that HOF set to 700
