x39crazy Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Hi all, Ive been making some 109/P-51 skins for our group and would like to start on the 190, but I cant seem to find the current 3 part template. Anyone got a link?
JST Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Original (And only) template as it was released: http://www.mediafire.com/download/wa76mpexy4kdp4p/FW_190_Template.7z Spec/normal maps not included. x39crazy Posted May 24, 2016 Author Posted May 24, 2016 (edited) Thank you! I must say this strikes me as awfully strange, That it comes as a single template for the entire aircraft, yet the normal and spec layers are divided into 4, one for each wing and one for each the front and rear of the fuselage. I get the P-51 as it has a template for each of these parts but this is somewhat different. Im using GIMP, is there a trick to painting the overall aircraft, then cutting up the livery into 4 parts? JST Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 The template only needs to be divided into 4 pieces for the game. You can even combine the normal/spec maps to one 4096x4096 file to make working with them easier. Equal chunks of 2048x2048. Simple way to save these as a texture for the game is to use the Rectangle Select tool and set a fixed size of 2048x2048, Crop to Selection and then just save, after that Undo the crop. If you're worried about losing any work, just save the entire file as a lossless image like a .PNG, then crop and save from that into the split texture files.
