hi.

I am buying a new computer and I want to install Black shark 2 from STEAM.

there is something called DCS 1.5 and DCS 2.0 and EDGE.

how do I install these latest versions od DCS world ?

I do not want to install beta versions, only the official finished products.

will the finished updates download and install automatically from STEAM ?

thanks.

Just install DCS: world from steam. You get the latest stable version. Opting in to beta versions require special actions. You will get a version of 1.5.3 with EDGE. 2.0 is only available in early acces (non-finished) and is not available at all in steam.

Yes, you will. Eventually, 1.5x, and 2.x will be merged into a single version. Currently, the only way to play on the new Nevada map is on the 2.x open beta.

Just know that you can buy modules from steam and use them either on steam, or non-steam installs. But, if you ever buy any modules from the dcs shop, you can *not* activate those to be used on steam (anymore. you used to be able to, but they've since dropped that support).

You might consider just installing the game straight from dcs, rather than via steam. I'm a big steam user, but this is one game that I decided to bypass steam on. Without steam, you get earlier access to some things, and you can take advantage of module sales from steam *and* the dcs shop. With steam, you can only buy/play what is on steam. (edit: The good news for you though... you can start with steam, and if you ever change your mind, you can move to the non-steam version without issue...)
