chromium Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 Do you know if it's possibile to set an option or a task for a single unit? like making a single unit ROE "hold fire" or to perform an "hold" task while the rest of the group will remain uneffected? An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.
nomdeplume Posted May 28, 2016 Posted May 28, 2016 The wiki says aircraft have their own AI, but that doesn't apply to ground units. You can use disable unit AI to shut down a specific unit, which might do what you want. I'm not sure how that'd effect group movement, they might still want to wait for that unit to be close enough before continuing.

I'm pretty certain the unit is basically considered to be "dead" by the group and they leave it behind. Once the unit AI is turned back on I think they might wait for it. Its been a while since I last tested that specific behavior. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
