Jacks Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I am having some severe performance issues in 1.5.3 release which are preventing me from using multiplayer therefore I would like to try Open Beta but don't want to run three installs including DCS 2.0 due to limited SSD space. Is there a way of turning the release version into Open Beta instead of uninstalling release and reinstalling Open Beta? Thanks in advance. NeilWillis Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 In a word, no. Beta is a separate entity. It is entirely feasible to run just the Beta, and not the Release version, but you can't easily update the release version to turn it into a beta version. It is a simple procedure to download and install the beta version, in which case all the common files will just be copied from your release version, then uninstall the release version from your system to leave just the beta. Uninstalling the release version will mean downloading a lot of files. You can also copy and paste the release saved games files across to the beta install in most cases. If you encounter problems after copying the saved data, then just delete the transferred files and start DCS World, and new files will be created. At present, if you are prepared to accept the odd instability issue, and undetected bugs, then the Beta install is probably the best single installation to use. If you want NTTR and a stable DCS World, then stick to the Release and 2.0.2.

Open Beta and Release Version are the Same Version Right now, So it will tell you that. Open AutoUpdate.Cfg and look at what it says under "branch: xxxxx" Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
