strumpy Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Hi As a total noobie to DCS world iam having a problem with the A10C flying the lessons that are provided with the module. After doing the cold startup& taxi i take off but the A10c wants to roll to the right, but if i do the Tour of Nevada flight the aircraft flies straight & level.(Using the same joystick settings) Is it something i am not seeing in the cold startup? Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Nooch Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Unless you're flying with a clean aircraft, it depends on the payload you're using. Depending on your weapon configuration, there's often a slight difference in weight and wind resistance between the right and left wing giving a tendency to roll left or right. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Hansolo Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 May also be a dual mapping issue. Analogue inputs from joysticks gets auto mapped for bank and pitch. Check you mapping to ensure that bank and pitch haven't been assigned to two different joystick. Zabuzard Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Do you fly other aircraft too? Does the problem only occur on the A-10C or also on other aircraft? I had a similar problem some years ago with a cheap joystick, the stick simply got defect.

I had exactly the same thing and this was the culprit. 1 System spec: i9 9900K, Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Ultra motherboard, 32Gb Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 RAM, Corsair M.2 NVMe 1Tb Boot SSD. Kiezer Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 (edited) If it is a gentle bank then it might just be the weight distribution, if you haven't already done so then try adjusting your trim. EDIT: Check here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=95587 Specifically this post by PeterP One Word: Trim ! The attached track is yours but I took over control after 10 seconds , I switched the controls-indicator on (so you can see what I'm doing), I levelled out by using the arrow keys, and than I only hit once [RCtrl+,]=Trim Left Wing Down. And you can see that the plane flies level without that I have to do something at all. Now You maybe response that your load-out is symmetric and that there is now wind... But, there is wind - blowing straight in your face with about 260 kts and your load is maybe symmetric in weight , but not in drag. The two sidewinders at the right wing are responsible for :"Plane constantly banks to the right" So once again: Learn to trim.
