Best Config for my Rig. (help)

Hi all,

 

I just got myself a new graphics card, I finally replaced my super old GForce4 MX440 for a brand new N6800 512mb DDR2 AGP8X :clap: and upgraded my memory to 1024MB RAM DDR400 PC3200. Now I gotta say, this game is such an eye candy, the effects are BEAUTIFUL, the sunset is just WOW and the Water! neway u get the point.

 

On average I get 15fps in the cockpit view with shkval on, but I feel it is kinda low so I would like to know what is the best config to use in order to get a good balance between graphics and fps. Oh btw, my processor is a 3ghz pentium 4.

major fps killers are scenes, visability, water, mirrors, and heat blur. You can get rid of mirrors since they are useless anyway, and push water down to medium, same eith visability. That should get you going. Or download some fps tweaks over at lockonfiles.

Best thing to do is mess around with the settings until your happy with FPS and how it looks. Like SKF said water on med is almost the same as on high, you get a little more reflection. And mirrors are just for looks, I tried them for about a week and I didn't get any use out of them. they just brought down my FPS so I turned them off. Heat blur is nice and on my system I only lose 1-3 FPS I think when I have it turned on. Visability is the real killer, I have mine tweaked inbetween med and high.

 

Just test out different settings, it's trail and error.

Increasing RAM to 2 GIG's will be even better, trust me. ;)

Don't install any of those FPS tweaks packs, it will mess up your Lock On.
