Because (hopefully) short after Vista is released, I will be building me a new computer. SuperKungFu Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 lol i hope vista supports black shark. I remember reading an article about the list of games that vista supported, they tested a lot of games and some of the recent ones didn't work like battlefield 2, which was quite odd. Of course it was still a beta version of vista but it was amusing to see that BF2 didn't work but some old game like Starcraft worked :megalol: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

SuperKungFu Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 while on that subject blizzard should have continued with starcraft, that was pretty fun [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Fjordmonkey Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Given the havok that happened when Flaming Cliffs' release got pushed back, I understand that ED are keeping their cards close to their chests when it comes to even giving an estimated release date. People tend to not see the word estimated, or understand that it is just that. An estimate. And that shit happens at times, making you have to push the release back, which again creates an uproar. My estimate on when it's done: When it's done™ :P That being said, I do hope that the Santa's at ED are nice to us around christmas :P Regards Fjordmonkey Clustermunitions is just another way of saying that you don't like someone. I used to like people, then people ruined that for me.

Solidburn Posted September 8, 2006 Author Posted September 8, 2006 Oh I understand them not wanting to say anything specific, I was just hoping for a round-about ball-park estimate (that should be watered down enough:D ) So we have some idea...I know I'm not the only one sitting in a puddle of drool over what this release promises to be "I know Not that which you have said, but if I had medication I would (Robin Williams)" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Guest Cali Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 We will get it before X-mas just like Lock on....that's my theory.
Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 I plan on doing the same thing, is DX10 going to be released at or around the same time? Vista will probably be released early next year, if it all goes as well as when XP was released, by 2008 it will be good enough for games (Jane's F/A-18 didn't run well on XP when they released it) - DX10 will require DX10 compliant cards, another problem, as there are no such cards to be bought. When you add the steep requirements of Vista plus the $ you will need to spend on a new GPU and CPU and MO and RAM (at least 2 GB) you not only will be at least US$1500 poorer - but probably end up with a similar performing PC as you have now. DX10 no doubts premisses to be the great for games, by 2009 we should be seeing a lot of DX10 games, I doubt many will risk developing now a DX10 - and I doubt that LOBS would benefit from the added cost of making it DX10 ready. My 2c.
zaelu Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 I agree completly with ThomasDWeiss and I think as a "IMHO" that ED is not even bother much with DX10 and Vista and they don't have to. Also if I can add a little gasoline on MS cake... what will happen if some "nut" will make DX10 run in XP enviroment? :devil_2: doomsday? :pilotfly: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
