ThePutzer Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 My compass tells me I'm going West.. Hud indicates the same,(254),However when I check map. My heading is North 354,,and confirm by sun and time of day.. I can only assume there is a alignment proc., that was just implemented.. I have spent more time than would like to admit,, in manual..But I just don't get it. 1. Set the PSM Operational Mode in N 2. Set the PSM Mode in VEI. This will automatically select PREP Waypoint 00 3. Check that the Aircraft position in Latitude, Longitude and Altitude indicated by the PCN are correct. Change them as needed (see Data Entry for more information). I Need a step by step training video that's accurate an up 2 date..On how to do this.(see data entry). Never had a problem before,,hit waypoint and followed arrow..(HSI). Seasoned pilots with better grasp of systems and French maybe could put up short u-tube?? and post link?? I just aint sharp enough..HELP, I love this bird, did a clean install couple months back,, never bothered loading any other module up, let alone set controls up.. ThePutzer
jojo Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 The manual has been updated with new PCN procedures, go to: DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Doc\DCS M-2000C Flight Manual EN.pdfPlease read p85 to p91 and then come back if you still have questions.:book: The good news is that it's written in English  Mirage fanatic ! Pikey Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 (edited) Put in VEI first and update the INS LL coords to where you are via the F10 map. It's not quite accurate due to a bug, but also not hugely accurate anyway, however, the first one you get is miles off. Then do your full alignment in ALN mode and wait until the PRET light is green. Rest of it is in the manual, it easier to read than watch someones mouse cursor putting numbers in. I'm holding off any videos until it further forward as its like shooting for goal when someone is running with the goalposts, the Mirage is in development. ReggiePerrin Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Well that explains last nights navigation mystery :0 During the 8mins it takes to perform a standard alignment can you move the aircraft, i.e. once I've started the ALM, Pret is flashing, can I start taxing to the takeoff point? (I'm a noob, so I can ask a few dumb questions)
ThePutzer Posted June 26, 2016 Author Posted June 26, 2016 True Heading So if I enter the Lt Long,,that will fix the true heading also??? I tried to edit True Heading to no avail is that why?...I Know..go figure.. Simple F instuction when changes are made// new features// implemented, would be NICE!@@##.. 4crying out loud,.. That be 2 simple!!! It is simple and clear; - Before starting the aircraft, verify your coordinates in the F10. - Ask for ground power. - Turn the battery and set PSM, set the mode selector to VEI and operational mode to N - On the PCN, set parameter selector to L/G - To enter the Coordinates (example N44.13.30 E043.04.42) in the PCN, first you press 1 ( to tell PCN you are using the first data block) the 2 ( to tell it is a north coordinate) then 441330 and press enter (INS). That took care of your north now to the east, first press 3 ( to use the right date block) then 6 ( to tell it is east) then 0430442 and enter. - Set PSM mode selector to ALN and the PCN val light should light up, press it. - Now finish the start and verify the rest of the way points and when is done the PRET green light is solid. All of this is the manual with much details and much better explained. Well that explains last nights navigation mystery :0 During the 8mins it takes to perform a standard alignment can you move the aircraft, i.e. once I've started the ALM, Pret is flashing, can I start taxing to the takeoff point? (I'm a noob, so I can ask a few dumb questions) If you want the highest precision don't move at all. If navigation is not a factor, you can set the PSM selector out of alignment (ALN) to NAV once class 4 is reach (ALN yellow light will turn off). Edited June 26, 2016 by mvsgas I can't spell to save my life. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
CrashO Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Simple F instuction when changes are made// new features// implemented, would be NICE!@@##.. 4crying out loud,.. That be 2 simple!!! Such as these changelogs? Added INS update: bullseye selection. Added INS Alignment update Added INS Auxiliary Gyro Enabled Added INS Damage Added INS Data entry and validation (WiP) Added INS Data entry (WiP) Added INS Flightplan update (WiP TBT) INS Drift Error (WiP) INS Status and Keyboard lights update Combined with a updated INS section in your manual and a full step-by-step howto, for INS alignment on page 90 and data-entry on pages 87-89. What more do you look for? :music_whistling:
ThePutzer Posted June 26, 2016 Author Posted June 26, 2016 Thank You ! simple step by step Thank You so very much!! MVSGAS !!! I admits, I am slow. I just couldn't glean that outta the manual. Just don't run over that battery pack when taxing, or crew chiefs foot! Thanks again ThePutzer (ya I am)
ThePutzer Posted June 26, 2016 Author Posted June 26, 2016 CrashO NOTHING in change log link that came with update!! The MIRAGE was not on the list!!!~ You needed to go HUNT 4 those specific logs!..And without experiencing a problem you wouldn't even know you needed it!
CrashO Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Most 3rd party project planes never do. Mig-21 had a giant update, also, not in the general change logs. Only EagleDynamic stuff (and planes with very minor changes) are in it. As far as hunting for the logs goes. If you enter the Mirage 2000 section on the forum, the very first topic you see is: "Sticky: M-2000C Pending Update Fix List" containing all changelogs for the mirage, ever. You are running the OpenBeta branch of DCS, not the stable one. So changes (and you researching them) are to be expected. And all it takes after a update (or before, a lot of stuff is announced before the update) is check the fix list to see what changed. Just my 2 cents :pilotfly:
Azrayen Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 During the 8mins it takes to perform a standard alignment can you move the aircraft, i.e. once I've started the ALM, Pret is flashing, can I start taxing to the takeoff point? NEVER move during alignment. Shorten alignment if you wish (as said by mvsgas), but never move the aircraft before you put the PSM left selector on "NAV".
ReggiePerrin Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 (edited) NEVER move during alignment. Shorten alignment if you wish (as said by mvsgas), but never move the aircraft before you put the PSM left selector on "NAV". I got it thanks, it's a bit fiddly (I'm in a Vive and the buttons/status lights are very small), but once you go through it a few times, no problems. I did an experiment by not putting an accurate lat/long in whilst in VEI mode, and I got about a 10degree compass error on the HSI and HUD after a full ALM. To restart the alignment process, so you can put in the correct lat/long, do you merely switch back to VEI mode and start from there, or is it advisable to power cycle the INS/the whole flipping plane? Pikey Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 yep, theres also stuff thats not in the changelog that got implemented. This isn't meant to be consumer friendly right now, thats why its released as unfinished software. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
