Home Fries Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 I discovered the S/Z switch on the radar panel and their corresponding commands in the controls menu, but I can't find anything about them. What exactly is TDC S or Z mode? -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide

rbland Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Any chance you can make that an idiot's guide ;-) What difference does choosing S (guess min/max) or Z (centre ?) do ?
Zeus67 Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Any chance you can make that an idiot's guide ;-) What difference does choosing S (guess min/max) or Z (centre ?) do ? It allows you to "see" the radar search cone. "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning." "The three most dangerous things in the world are a programmer with a soldering iron, a hardware type with a program patch and a user with an idea."
Azrayen Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 +1 Absolutely no difference for the radar itself. Just a different indication for the pilot. S = I scan "alone", it's nice to know what part of the sky I'm scanning. Z = I'm trying to find a target that a GCI BRAA'ed me, so I know its distance and altitude, let's set my radar correctly with those parameters to maximize my chances of finding it quick.
acdelta57 Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 So can we clarify which one is which? lol S mode = Z mode = [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]1000 miles of road will take you around town, a 1000 feet of runway can take you around the world...unless your in a Huey, you can go anywhere with no runway in a Huey! multiplayer name ''DustOff=3=6''
