sohei Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Hi all Due to a house move and a delay in the provisioning of my broadband service I'll be recieving a Rift today but will only have a very limited internet connection to set up with. To get round this problem I'm downloading the steam DCS files to my USB hard drive at work and will copy over to my gaming rig when I get home. Is the Steam DCS good with Rift, or should I aim to get the standalone version installed instead? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I just want to get up and running as quickly as possible! Thanks John A small pie is soon eaten
KLR Rico Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I don't know for sure, since I don't use the Steam version of DCS, but it seems that the standalone gets the updates much faster than steam. For that reason, I'd prefer the standalone to be on the bleeding edge since there's something VR specific in every update. i5-4670K@4.5GHz / 16 GB RAM / SSD / GTX1080 Rift CV1 / G-seat / modded FFB HOTAS
