Insonia Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I just ordered a cheap 4K LCD and SteamVR compatible device. Only support HDMI 1.4b . Probably the same HDMI mipi which CV1 and vive use. So it cant input real 4k source. Only 2k or 1080p input at 60hz or 75hz. But the 'pixel per inch' is doubled. It should bring much clearly image, but more screen ghosting when the player turning around. And more motion sickness?:glare:
cichlidfan Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 As for the title question, it would great. In terms of what you are going to do, rather pointless. Doubling the PPI doesn't help if you can't input a signal that supports it. How will the image be clearer when you aren't going to be inputting a 4k image? A 1080p movie does not look any better on my 4k monitor than it does on the 1080p TV. Insonia Posted June 29, 2016 Author Posted June 29, 2016 How will the image be clearer when you aren't going to be inputting a 4k image? Almost no screen door effects. As this thing is marketing for. Maybe work better with pixel setting to 2.0. 4K RGB@30 is supported but useless i guess. The 4K actually is able to use YUV color compressed @60 .(should be. depends on NV/AMD driver), i cant confirm now but wont wait too long.
