OldE24 Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 when i hit my ECM button on my joystick V turns on..then i hit E on keyboard and BR jammer comes on and then my joystick switch changes BR.... WHAT IS V? BR=jammer. 8700k@4.7 32GB ram, 1080TI hybrid SC2
Zeus67 Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 V = VEI = Standby. Jammer is energized but not transmitting. "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning." "The three most dangerous things in the world are a programmer with a soldering iron, a hardware type with a program patch and a user with an idea."
sedenion Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 (edited) V = VEI = Standby. Veille :smilewink: BR=jammer. Brouillage (learn french with Razbam Mirage 2000 module !) Edited July 9, 2016 by sedenion
OldE24 Posted July 9, 2016 Author Posted July 9, 2016 makes sence..switch logic seems weird. 8700k@4.7 32GB ram, 1080TI hybrid SC2
Azrayen Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 switch logic seems weird. Seems perfectly logic to me. 1/ you power the device (electronics get ready & stuff) 2/ you use the jamming feature of the device Look the radar, same thing...
OldE24 Posted July 10, 2016 Author Posted July 10, 2016 (edited) i have the jammer on and off i have on my joystick but it used to be E so if i push my joystick button "jammer on" it goes to V and jammer off turns off V if i push E "jammer activate" with v on or off it goes to BR, then my joystick button "jammer on/off" turns BR light on or off but NEVER goes back to V/standby when off. so shouldnt it work more like Jammer on/off turns the V on and off untill you push E at which point it just turns the BR light on and off and NEVER goes back to standby V mode? IE after you turn on the jammer "BR" the jammer NEVER goes back to standby V mode just turns BR on and off...shouldnt it go back to standby when i push the activate button? ie activate to standby? IE after you turn on the jammer "BR" the jammer NEVER goes back to standby V mode just turns BR on and off...shouldnt it go back to standby when i push the activate button? ie activate to standby? This is because the "Jammer Activate" is a shortcut toggle that acts on two things: The power knob and the BR switch. - Jammer Toggle On => Turn Power knob to ON + turn BR switch to M - Jammer Toggle Off => Turn Power knob to ON + turn BR switch to A The "Jammer On" and "Jammer Off" commands acts only on the BR switch, - Jammer On (BR switch to M) - Jammer Off (BR switch to A) And, the initial state of the power knob is to "VEI"... So, you hit "Jammer On", you see the "V"... once you hit the "E" key, the power knob stay to "ON", and only the BR switch is toggled M/A, so you never see the "V" again... (except if you "manually" turn the power knob to VEI again). Maybe the initial state of the Power knob should be to "ON", so this appear less strange when you toggle "Jammer Activate" for the first time from a "hot start"... Edited July 11, 2016 by sedenion
Azrayen Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 No such thing as a "power knob" here, sedenion. Powering the device = the BR switch (De)Activating the jamming = the knob. OldE24: I didn't test the keyboard input, I mostly use my mouse. But I would feel more logical to have different inputs keys for different switches. Typically, I will probably need to map the knob on my HOTAS, but leave the power switch aside, to be managed with mouse at fence in / fence out. ++

I think a good compromise is to set the BR Switch to ON and the knob to VEI as initial state for any hot start... so, "toggle jammer" acts only on the knob, from VEI to [ON]... The fact that a shortcut command acts on more than one switch is ok to me, if we keep the independent commands... so, we have commands by individual switch, and some shortcut combos.
