ZHeN Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I can't talk to tankers/awacs ... they just don't reply - as if I used wrong frequency... I can talk to Towers & JTACs though. Am I doing something wrong? HOW TO USE A RADIO 1. Set both radios to MARCHE (ON) 2. Select desired radio frequency. You can verify frequencies on the COM frequency display. A) For COM1 radio (V/UHF), select preset radio channel or use the drums to manually choose your radio frequency. B) For COM2 radio (UHF), select preset radio channel. 3. Select desired radio using the AMPLIS selector switch. “1” is for COM1 (V/UHF) “2” is for COM2 (UHF) 4. Press the Communication Menu switch “\” [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ZHeN Posted July 17, 2016 Author Posted July 17, 2016 sorry, used wrong subforum again [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
grunf Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Step 1 and 2 seem OK. To communicate, use Main U/VHF Radio Select (LShift + Num+), or Aux UHF Radio Select (LAlt + Num-). Both keys are in HOTAS section. No need to use "\" any more.
ZHeN Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 I've tried both Radios - COM1 & COM2, both don't send messages to tankers/awacs, I only receive from them [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

ZHeN Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 1.5.4 stable release version ... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
grunf Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 1.5.4 stable release version ... I think the comms work the same as in beta. Can you upload the mission, I'll check it. Or setup a simple mission with M2000, tanker and awacs, set all their frequencies to 251 MHz, including your own, and use LAlt + Num- to contact them.
ZHeN Posted July 19, 2016 Author Posted July 19, 2016 ok, finally LAlt+Num- worked I don't even need to switch between COM1/COM2 on the left panel ... thanks a lot, grunf! I wonder what's the difference between "/" and "LAlt+Num-" - they both show me the same radio commands menu ... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I wonder what's the difference between "/" and "LAlt+Num-" - they both show me the same radio commands menu ... Glad it's working. :) It seems that the COM1/COM2 switch has no effect on comms. Basicaly, to open the comms menu for UHF radio, use LAlt + Num-, to open comms menu for U/VHF radio use LShift + Num+. As far as I can tell, "/" opens the menu for the last used radio.
Tarres Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 COM 1/2 is to select the main or the spare "amplis" of the system. Selection of the V/Uhf or Uhf is done with the switch that we have in the throttle since 1.5.4 (not animated or click cable yet). This new throttle represents a RDI throttle instead of the RDM that we had.
