Engine Start Procedure

But i experienced something similar, and i don't think it is normal to see the engine taking rpm when pressure is applied without pushing the start button ...

This is normal:

The left engine start button activates the left engine ignition for 40 seconds. The rpm comes from the ground air.

The right engine start button activates the right engine ignition for 40 seconds and opens the air valve from the left engine if the left engine runs at least 70%

Well, dunno if somebody already wrote this over here, but at least IRL, the Brazilian F-5 pilots don't start the right engine using the hot air produced by the left engine, it's prohibited, because of the high level of noise and they only do this procedure once during the training, just to see that it's possible. Not even at scramble.
