Thisdale Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Greets, Trying to setup a few artillery SPH 2S9 Nona firing at a specific point. Setup: No waypoint Advanced Waypoint action: Fire at Point Drag arrow to desired point (within the Unit's engagement range (outer line) Weapon=Auto Rounds expended: unchecked (unlimited?). I load the map, they fire a few rounds, normally (2 to 5). And then stop. What's up? Are they out of ammunition? Can i have a setup to resupply them? I'd like for them to continue firing indefinitely. http://www.youtube.com/konotani Computer Specs: Z97X-gaming Mobo 4670k i5 24G DDR3 GTX 1080 Asus PG278Q Rog Swift 27-INCH G-SYNC Valve Index Thrustmaster Warthog Fanatec Clubsport Pedals (used as Rudders) Thrustmaster T300 Arcantera Wheel Obutto R3volution rig
MasterZelgadis Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 2 to 5 would be too few. But indefinitely is not possible either. Don't know how many rounds they have, but they shoot more than 5. You can place a Ural truck inside a 100m radius of the units, then they resupply. But that takes time, I think with an artillery quite long. Can you post a mission file? Which DCS version? EntropySG Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 wouldnt it be cool if we simply had a checkbox 'unlimited ammo' for CA units in the ME? sometimes as a mission designer, you just want to create tracer fire and effects, and then this would be very helpful. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Actually, turns out its 100 rounds per artillery. not sure why my artillery decide to stop. Perhaps they have "magazines" and they must reload the magazines. Do you need the Ural Trucks to do a special action? http://www.youtube.com/konotani Computer Specs: Z97X-gaming Mobo 4670k i5 24G DDR3 GTX 1080 Asus PG278Q Rog Swift 27-INCH G-SYNC Valve Index Thrustmaster Warthog Fanatec Clubsport Pedals (used as Rudders) Thrustmaster T300 Arcantera Wheel Obutto R3volution rig
nomdeplume Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Yes, ground vehicles all have limited ammunition. Once they're out, they cannot fire any more. They will automatically re-arm if there are transport trucks nearby, but it takes quite a while. You don't have to do anything special to make that happen, but there's also no way of seeing it "in action". If their 'fire at point' task is still active once they're reloaded, they'll start firing again.
