Slamon
Hi, I play the steam version of DCS but I want to convert to the standalone version for obvious reasons. The one thing thats stopping me is that my internet is trash (~90KB/s if noone else is using it), so I like the fact that I can pause big downloads on steam and not have to leave my computer on for 20 hours using all my bandwidth. If I download the standalone version will I be able to pause it and will the download fail if my connection drops (which seems to happen pretty much every few hours) or windows 10 decides to restart my computer? I made the mistake of buying kerbal space program outside of steam a few years ago and downloading that was a nightmare even though its only about 1 GB. millmax
Right now DCS comes with a 6.44 MB Web Installer. I think it supports resume, but I'm not 100% sure. Anyway, with a 90k bandwidth, I'd recommend you to bring your computer with you to a place with proper internet connection and do the installation there.
