Kartoffel Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Can someone tell me which is bottle necking the rest me and a good example of a more suitable replacement? Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80 GHz RAM: 16 GB Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Also, does anyone know if DCS is cpu or gpu intensive? War is easy and is just like riding a bike. Except the bike is on fire and the ground is on fire and you are on fire and you realise you are in hell :joystick:
dburne Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 I would say both are - your ram is fine. Prior versions of DCS were more cpu dependent, but with 1.5 and 2.0 and the introduction of Edge, it makes much better use of the GPU now. A better GFX like the 900 series may help a little, but ideally at some point you will want to upgrade motherboard and cpu, get something running closer to that 4ghz mark. 1 Don B EVGA Z390 Dark MB | i9 9900k CPU @ 5.1 GHz | Gigabyte 4090 OC | 64 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 MHz CL16 | Corsair H150i Pro Cooler |Virpil CM3 Stick w/ Alpha Prime Grip 200mm ext| Virpil CM3 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Base w/ Alpha-L Grip| Point Control V2|Varjo Aero|
