Kartoffel Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Is it supposed to stay at 96%? War is easy and is just like riding a bike. Except the bike is on fire and the ground is on fire and you are on fire and you realise you are in hell :joystick:
Kartoffel Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 Yeah dafuq War is easy and is just like riding a bike. Except the bike is on fire and the ground is on fire and you are on fire and you realise you are in hell :joystick:
cardboard_man Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 From what i know and i might be wrong the f15 is limited to 96% rpm unless VMAX switch is pressed. This lets you go to max rpm for 5-6min it is however not implemented.
Kartoffel Posted August 11, 2016 Author Posted August 11, 2016 I remember some time ago it would go above 100% in afterburner, is that realsitic or not? War is easy and is just like riding a bike. Except the bike is on fire and the ground is on fire and you are on fire and you realise you are in hell :joystick:
mvsgas Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 (edited) I remember some time ago it would go above 100% in afterburner, is that realsitic or not? RPM above 96% is consider over speed, so no, not realistic. F-15 RPM, like F-16, shows Core RPM or the second compressor (N2). PW-220 should reach a max of 96%. Afterburner should not affect RPM. Vmax switch (called max power in the F-16) only affects old PW-220 engines. This switch does not increase RPM, but allows a higher Fan Turbine Inlet Temperature (FTIT). MAX POWER Switch PW220 The MAX POWER switch, located on the left console, is solenoid held in the MAX POWER position when the throttle is at MAX AB and airspeed is 1 mach or greater. Functions are: • MAX POWER – Delivers maximum thrust by allowing maximum FTIT to increase by 22°C. • OFF – Normal (deenergized) position. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=123939 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=124398 http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2691188&postcount=119 Edited August 11, 2016 by mvsgas To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
