OS question

I'm thinking of upgrading. With my system now I had OEM win7 installed, & then took the free win10. I still have the win10 image on dvd, would it install with a new MB ? or looking at buying another OS ? Thanks for any comments.

No, according to what I have as info your OEM will NOT activate.

 

You can still try and call MS activation line and see how far you get.

 

You can STILL get Win10 for free, legally, just LOOK for this site:

click&install___-LEGAL____ last option before this door closes too.

 

Get a Win7, install, get to that site and install Win10.

 

 

*Only works if you have a legal Win7 copy somewhere on the shelf or you may get one from buddy next door etc... anyone that will install and activate will get you a Win10..still..but hurry.

I have contrary information about non-OEM and retail versions.

 

From what I read, OEM will not be allowed to be moved across PC's but retail licenses are, based on the retail agreement of your Win7, move it as you want.

 

This is a very weird situation and I guess the final decision on how this is handled hasnt been announced by MS yet. Time will tell. Also legal things come into play in one or another country.
