What happened to the gunsight?

Just tried the latest NTTR patch. The Mirage gunsight is completely different. Is the explanation of the change buried in the giant fix-it thread?

The Hud was updated (and changed ) due to new info.

 

So there are several Hud related changes.

It doesn't seem like the manual was updated to reflect the change. At least, I don't see in the manual what I see in the new HUD.

 

All I get now when I select guns is a little circle with a dot in it corresponding to boresight. The snake is gone.

Can you show a screenshot of how it's different I'm not home so I can't check it my self

I think my old HOTAS switch for guns is taking me to the AG gun pipper.

 

But I can't change my controls because of the black screen bug. I am completely stuck.

@gavagai, should be able to fix that without losing your controls.

 

remove the M-2000C folder from Saved Games/DCS/config/input (copy it elsewhere)

 

Allow DCS to regenerate the Mirage controls from default

 

Manually reload your control profiles for each controller using the in-game options menu and you should be good to go.

 

 

As far as the HUD symbology, sounds like you have cannon mode select from the PCA bound as opposed to aa gun select from the HOTAS perhaps?

Already tried that. Still get the black screen bug.

 

Fortunately, I looked at an old thread and figured out that I can change the controls from the esc menu in flight. Now we're back to normal, whew!

Method 1: delete your \Saved Games\DCS\Config\options.lua, redo your options (= the cleanest)

Method 2: in DCS go to options, check/uncheck VR relative settings, save; go back, undo what you just did, save again.

 

You should be good to go. Let us know.

Method 1 was the first thing I tried. No change.

 

Just tried Method 2. No change.

 

Only way to change the Mirage controls is from the in-game esc menu. From the main menu it's still the black screen every time.

I'm upgrading my computer so no DCS at the moment, can't try myself for the next few days...
