Big Nuts Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 The graphics seem to opt for a fuzzy, warm look that seems like a technique from dx9 days. It's as though every day in DCS is hazy and 'serene', like the magic hour. When the wind blows, when the makeup of the air changes, the sky looks different. On a windy morning it may look a cold electric blue, a calm hazy day more like dcs. Every day in DCS feels calm and hazy, it's usually a treat for a pilot but lets have some fierce stark blue skies and some figid wind-torn seas :pilotfly:
Marky3254 Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 I agree Big Nuts. It would be nice to have some horrible weather, the sort where you think 'I'm staying inside today, the war will have to wait...'.
Aginor Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 I think everyone will agree that the weather system needs another overhaul, both in graphics and in gameplay. They said they are working on it. DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
Necroscope Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 I saw that in DCS 2.0 colors are way better then in greyish 1.5. Sweet FX can do the trick as well, but everything is still static. Hope ED will sort this out one day. Всех убью, один останусь!
Big Nuts Posted August 27, 2016 Author Posted August 27, 2016 I think it's basic tech, the new maps are dynamically loaded/rendered, i wonder if the terrain in the caucaususus is loaded brute force method, in large blocks? Very basic, so i think it's an old dx9 thing, like a cheap way to get it looking 'good'. It's sort of reminiscent of that.
