Braeden108 Posted September 15, 2016 Posted September 15, 2016 (edited) I'm wondering if anyone has any idea how many pulses per revolution the encoder on the Ka-50 ABRIS has. Edited September 15, 2016 by Braeden108 Light the tires kick the fires! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
JG14_Smil Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Hello, interesting post. Are you building a pit? Would like to see it if so. Might be able to find the answer for you. My Alps encoders have 30 pulses per revolution, but lua is used to edit how many are used per revolution in the sim. It is a critical setting on the cursor encoder. Good luck to you,
Braeden108 Posted September 18, 2016 Author Posted September 18, 2016 What are these lua settings? I was going to go with 15 pulses because Leo Bodnard sells one the does 15 ppr with built in push button. And unfortunately I lack the time and money to build a pit (but not the desire). I'm simply building the abris encoded and push buttons into my throttle. As I had a few buttons left in my matrix. JG14_Smil Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Ahh OK. That is a great start to a fun hobby. That will work fine. I'm not familiar with DCS BIOS, I use Helios for my interfaces. It lets you edit the value that affects the ABRIS (or other encoders) in DCS. It makes it easy for regular guys to use the lua inputs/output. When I retire in two weeks, I want to start working on my bucket list item of learning to program, if so, I will start learning more about DCS BIOS. good luck with your project!
Braeden108 Posted September 18, 2016 Author Posted September 18, 2016 Thanks man! Congradulations on your retirement Light the tires kick the fires! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
