Ok made some tests. AIM 120 will have LA at 10km and Below the missile is ofc Pitbull! :D AIM9 same range but not at all effective range (about 5 km or less).

Western paylod rocks for now. And I don't know if it was in your intension but everything is in Mig21bis capabilities which looks so realistic and not at all overpowered! Very nice work! Goin for more with ER/ET and R-73. Wish I could see the R-77.

 

Hey regarding this- If you emergency launch override and fire the missile with a max range lock (30KM) you the missile will go active and score a kill! BVR in a Fishbed!

Yeah true tho not consistent, many of my emergency launches went mad dog immediately, ofc could be my own fault there. BTW did you had the r73 working? I have most of my troubles with that missile. It's rare that I get a lock with it.

You know- this has me wondering... If the Aim-120 will correctly guide as long as the MiG 21 has a lock, would the same occur if I put them on F-5s? My guy says no because the MiG 21s radar is actually coded to guide weapons on some level wheras the F-5s is advisory only... If it did work though it would be pretty insane. I'll try that tonight

It isn't unrealistic, but realistic that Russian aircraft would be capable to carry western payloads. But, Mig-21 (any variant) to be able carry western payloads, that is totally different question.

So, if we assume that would be true, we can with this mod then pretend we are flying Mig-21-2000.

 

With this mod, I again start dreaming about Leatherneck studios to release a Mig-21Bis upgrade module (requiring the Mig-21Bis module to be owned first) that upgrades it to some newer models so we don't need to pretend to fly something newer in some of the missions with mods ;)

 

While how great Mig-21Bis is, no mod (or any other version etc) will take away it from how great it is to fly Mig-21Bis as is.
