Here's a video I put together showing me in the Mirage against a Su-27. I'll begin by saying that I'm not an excellent dogfighter (or video editor) as I am usually flying either helos or ground pounders. I just thought this is a decent way of showing how important situational Awareness is. Also shows how well the Mirage can counter aircraft like the Su-27.

I'm not sure if he was even hit. Bugged proximity fuses probably saved his ass about 10 times. ^^ Good flying nonetheless!

I might sound like a bit of a **** here, but you were just lucky the proximity fuses are broken currently, because you would have otherwise died from every missile he fired.

 

Still a fun video though.

That's unbelievable, I can't imagine how upset he was lol. Well personally I don't need to watch video to know how important the SA is. I won and lose many times because of it. Nice video thou...

Does the same kind of thing happen in DCS 1.5X ? (proximity fuze bug)

Yes. Proxy fuses are bugged since they first published the netcode-extrapolation-changes. Basically haven't seen any proximity-fuse go off ever since then, if the missile passes you by 20cm, it passes you. Guess they will come back when the new netcode is finished ...
